Premieres in the Repertory of Resonabilis

In the concert programme rePRESSION of the ensemble Resonabilis, new work Signum Magnum II by Kristjan Kõrver will be premiered, additionally Tightrobe Walker, recently composed by Tanja Kozlova, will be performed, also several works that have not been heard in Estonia before. Ensemble Resonabilis performs with the programme rePRESSION on 24 November at 7 pm at the Tartu Cultural Factory and on 25 November at 7 pm in Theatrum, Tallinn.

Ensemble Resonabilis including Iris Oja (voice), Kristi Mühling (Estonian zither), Tarmo Johannes (flute) and Aare Tammesalu (cello) has been forced to constantly pressurize both the composers and themselves because of its unusual instruments – in order to commission, search, find and present new repertory. All works in the programme rePRESSION are new in the repertory of the ensemble, most of them are premiered in Estonia.

The programme includes Signum Magnum II by Kristjan Kõrver for voice, flute, zither and cello (2009, premiere), Tightrobe Walker by Tatjana Kozlova for voice, flute, zither and cello (2009), Run by Maria Kallionpää for Estonian zither (2006, premiere in Estonia), Still Sweet by Dai Fujikura, version for voice, bass flute and cello (1998/2006/2009 version premiere), Die Aussicht by Kaija Saariaho, arrangement for voice, flute, zither and cello by Kristi Mühling (1998, arrangement premiere), Bone++ by Keiko Harada for bass flute (2000, premiere in Estonia) and 2 songs from the cycle Cinq Calme-plats by Georges Aperghis for female voice (1992).
