Estonian Music Days festival passes on sale

First festival passes of Estonian Music Days are on sale at Piletilevi. In 2014 Estonian Music Days (EMD) focus on symphonic large scale works. The festival will be held from 5-11 April 2014 in Tallinn. The Estonian Music Days Festival dates back to 1979 and focuses on the most recent music by Estonian composers. In 2014 the festival celebrates its 35th anniversary, the programme includes musicians from various genres and brings together several art forms.

One can hear new works by Erkki-Sven Tüür, Helena Tulve, Toivo Tulev, Tatjana Kozlova-Johannes, Märt-Matis Lill, Pärt Uusberg, Mirjam Tally, Margo Kõlar, Maria Kõrvits, Tõnis Kaumann and Liis Viira. The festival programme includes Estonian most important orchestras, such as Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, the Vanemuine Symphony Orchestra and Estonian National Opera Orchestra, also Tallinn Chamber Orchestra. Before each symphony concert there is a smaller event with chamber pieces performed by ensembles that have grown out of the very same orchestras.
