Category Archives: Composer Recitals On Friday 16 October, composer Erkki-Sven Tüür celebrates his 50th birthday. The most considerable event among the celebrations is the concert that will be held in the Estonia Concert Hall on 16 October at 7 pm in contribution of Estonian National Symphony Orchestra and Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir conducted by Arvo Volmer. ESTONIAN MUSIC DAYS! Estonian Music Days take a look at the rich body of work of Estonian composers. EMD festival programme has traditionally included the most recently written pieces as well as the more ‘established’ works which form the foundation of Estonian contemporary music. The best of local musical force unite to deliver a fine selection of new works of various shape, from symphonies to music videos to chamber music. As a special theme, EMD 2008 reaches out to both young and new audience through unusual formats, such as a special Festival game, interactive multimedia piece for high shool students or through exciting big events such as the Young Musicians Gala Concert.
