Composers’ Union Selected Works for ISCM Festival 2012

The board of Estonian Composers’ Union selected six works that were sent to represent Estonia at the ISCM (International Society for Contemporary Music) World Music Days 2012 in Belgium. The selected works are composed by Helena TulveTatjana KozlovaMärt-Matis Lill,René EespereKristo Matson and Ardo Ran Varres.

Kõrvits, Krigul ja Tally ISCM-i festivali 2011 programmis

2011. aasta ISCM-i festivalile on Eestist esitatud teoste hulgast valitud Tõnu Kõrvitsa „Kaanon“ kõrgetele häältele (2010) ning Ülo Kriguli „…Wachet auf… die Stimme. Eine Choralfantasie György Ligeti in memoriam“ sajale äratuskellale (2007). Rootsit esindab Gotlandil elav eestlanna Mirjam Tally teosega „Birds and Shadows“ viiulile ja keelpilliorkestrile (2008). Festival toimub 10.-15. aprillil 2011 Zagrebis Horvaatias ja kannab alapealkirja „Mirabilia Memorabilia“.

Pärt Uusberg osaleb koorifestivalil „It’s Oh So Choir“ Brüsselis

Noor helilooja Pärt Uusberg osaleb eeloleval nädalavahetusel, 30.-31. oktoobril 2010 Brüsselis toimuval rahvusvahelisel koorifestivalil „It’s Oh So Choir“. Uusberg ja veel kolm heliloojat üle Euroopa valiti välja festivali raames toimuva noorte heliloojate töötoa programmi.

Helena Tulve Gaudeamus Music Weekil

6.-12. septembrini kestval nüüdismuusika festivalil Gaudeamus Music Week tuleb ettekandele Helena Tulve „Where the Two Seas Meet?“ suurele ansamblile (2010). Teose esitab ansambel Insomnio Ulrich Pöhli dirigeerimisel, kes andis helitööle ka esiettekande 2010. aasta aprillis. Helena Tulve koos iirlase Donnacha Dennehy ja hollandlase Roderik de Maniga kuulub tänavu samuti žüriisse, mis valis 21 heliloojat Gaudeamus Prize 2010 kandidaatide hulka. Preemia tähendab uut tellimust väärtuses 4550 eurot.

Malle Maltis Won the International Live-electronic Music Competition in Austria

Malle Maltis won first prize in Austria, at the international live-electronic music competition with her new composition Chameleon chant. Malle Maltis’ Chameleon chant for violin and live-electronics was premiered by Barbara Lüneburg and the electronic part by Tammo Sumera.

Psalm of David Competition Won by Pärt Uusberg

At the closing concert on 10 February, the jury chose Pärt Uusberg with Psalm of David No. 121 to be the winner of the competion Psalm of David. Second Prize went to Mari Amor and her Jehovah Hath Reigned, He Hath Put on Glory and Third Prize to Martin J. Sildos (Psalm of David No. 146). The jury also decided to give out two special prices: to Tõnis Kaumann for By the Rivers of Babylon and Evelin Seppar for Psalm of David No. 88.
