Kõrvits, Krigul ja Tally ISCM-i festivali 2011 programmis

2011. aasta ISCM-i festivalile on Eestist esitatud teoste hulgast valitud Tõnu Kõrvitsa „Kaanon“ kõrgetele häältele (2010) ning Ülo Kriguli „…Wachet auf… die Stimme. Eine Choralfantasie György Ligeti in memoriam“ sajale äratuskellale (2007). Rootsit esindab Gotlandil elav eestlanna Mirjam Tally teosega „Birds and Shadows“ viiulile ja keelpilliorkestrile (2008). Festival toimub 10.-15. aprillil 2011 Zagrebis Horvaatias ja kannab alapealkirja „Mirabilia Memorabilia“.

The Competiton of Psalm of David

The Competition of Taaveti Laul (Psalm of David) was closed on 1 November. 22 compositions on new translations of Psalms of David were submitted in the competition, carried out by Estonian Composers’ Union and Pirita Monastery.

Estonian Music Days 2009

16 – 24 April, 2009
Along the 2009 Festival about twenty composers will bring forth their new compositions, which will be performed in Tallinn at the Estonia Concert Hall, Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, St. Nicholas Church, Tallinn Town Hall, Tallinna Methodist Church etc. The chief performers will be the Athelas Sinfonietta Copenhagen (Denmark), Collegium Novum Zürich (Switzerland), Silver Ainomäe, Jan Lehtola (Finland) and many others. EMD also celebrates 30 years since the first Estonian contemporay music festival in 1979.

Estonian Music Days 2008

Estonian Music Days take a look at the rich body of work of Estonian composers. EMD festival programme has traditionally included the most recently written pieces as well as the more ‘established’ works which form the foundation of Estonian contemporary music. The best of local musical force unite to deliver a fine selection of new works of various shape, from symphonies to music videos to chamber music. As a special theme, EMD 2008 reaches out to both young and new audience through unusual formats, such as a special Festival game, interactive multimedia piece for high shool students or through exciting big events such as the Young Musicians Gala Concert.

Estonian Music Days 2007

12.-18. April
On Thursday, 12. April, the annual Estonian Music Days 2007 festival will open with the TORMIS CIRCLE at the Estonia Concert Hall. In 2007, the EMD is proud to present Veljo Tormis as the festival composer.

During the festival week, the audience will be able to enjoy 26 concerts and altogether 41 premiers in concert venues varying from churches and universities to theatres and warehouses.

Estonian Music Days 2006 – final concert
