Estonian Music Days festival passes on sale

First festival passes of Estonian Music Days are on sale at Piletilevi. In 2014 Estonian Music Days (EMD) focus on symphonic large scale works. The festival will be held from 5-11 April 2014 in Tallinn. The Estonian Music Days Festival dates back to 1979 and focuses on the most recent music by Estonian composers. In 2014 the festival celebrates its 35th anniversary, the programme includes musicians from various genres and brings together several art forms.

Database for Estonian Film Music Was Opened

Tallinn Music Week, Black Nights Film Festival and Film Estonia opened a brand new database for Estonian film music. It will be a working tool for international film industry. Database is available at www.filmmusic.ee. The database already includes several members of the ECU: Ardo Ran Varres, Helena Tulve, Malle Maltis, Liis Viira, Mirjam Tally, Sven Grünberg, Robert Jürjendal, Ülo Krigul. Andrus Kallastu’s Multimedia Work Performed at the Nordic Music Days in Iceland

Composer Andrus Kallastu‘s multimedia work ATEMLOS can be heard in the programme of the most important Nordic contemporary music festival Nordic Music Days. The performance takes place on the opening day of the festival, on 6 October 2011 in brand new Harpa concert hall in Reykjavik, Iceland. Hopefully, the performance of Kallastu’s work marks the beginning of a long-term co-operation between Estonian Composers’ Union, which is an organiser of the festival Estonian Music Days, and Nordic Music Days.

Tallinn 2011 Brings Composer Mirjam Tally to Pirita

In January, the all-year-long event series A Composer in Residence for Every District in Tallinn takes off from Pirita district with music by Mirjam Tally. This series is part of Estonian Composers’ Union‘s contribution to European Capital of Culture Tallinn 2011.

In January, Mirjam Tally is the composer in residence of Pirita. On Wednesday, 12 January at 7 pm Pirita Monastery opens its doors for Mirjam Tally’s Composers’ Recital. Her music will be performed by ensemble Resonabilis and accordionist Sirje Mõttus, accompanied by Indrek Hirv‘s poems. On 14 January, Mirjam Tally also meets the students at the Pirita Gymnasium of Economics. In the photo series by artist Jaanus Samma, Pirita will be seen from quite unfamiliar angle.

Kõrvits, Krigul ja Tally ISCM-i festivali 2011 programmis

2011. aasta ISCM-i festivalile on Eestist esitatud teoste hulgast valitud Tõnu Kõrvitsa „Kaanon“ kõrgetele häältele (2010) ning Ülo Kriguli „…Wachet auf… die Stimme. Eine Choralfantasie György Ligeti in memoriam“ sajale äratuskellale (2007). Rootsit esindab Gotlandil elav eestlanna Mirjam Tally teosega „Birds and Shadows“ viiulile ja keelpilliorkestrile (2008). Festival toimub 10.-15. aprillil 2011 Zagrebis Horvaatias ja kannab alapealkirja „Mirabilia Memorabilia“.

Esiettekanded Resonabilise kavas „rePRESSIOON II“

Ansambli Resonabilis uues kontserdikavas „rePRESSIOON II“ tulevad esiettekandele värsked uudisteosed Mirjam Tallylt, Tauno Aintsilt ja Andres Kallastult. Täpsemalt kõlavad esiettekandes Mirjam TallyVeesilm“, Tauno Aintsi „3film“ ja Andrus KallastuEleegiline Troop“. Lisaks tuleb nüüd ka ametlikult Eesti esiettekandele Helena Tulve teos „North Wind, South Wind“, mida võis kuulda septembris Walesis Vale of Glamorgan Festivalil. Kontserdil võib kuulda ka Kristi Mühlingu seadet Anton Weberni Variatsioonidest op. 27 ning Kaija Saariaho teost „Mirrors“. Resonabilise kontserdid pealkirjaga „rePRESSIOON II“ toimuvad laupäeval, 27 novembril kell 19 Tallinnas Vanalinna Muusikamaja saalis, ning pühapäeval, 28. novembril kell 18 Viljandis Pärimusmuusika Aida väikeses saalis.

IX Eesti Noorte Heliloojate Festival

3.-6. juunini leiab Tartus aset IX Eesti Noorte Heliloojate Festival. Festivali helilooja on Mirjam Tally, kelle loomingust on kavas autorikontsert ja veelgi mitmeid esiettekandeid („Shift 2“ Ansambel U: esituses ning „The Shadow of the Moon“ Kristi Mühlingu ja Jaak Lutsoja ettekandes), lisaks toimub workshop Mirjam Tally loomingust. Eesti Noorte Heliloojate Festivalil tulevad esiettekandele ka Märt-Matis Lille, Mart Siimeri, Jüri Reinvere ja Tatjana Kozlova teosed. Festivali kunstiline juht on Monika Mattiesen ning korraldaja MTÜ Tartu Jaani Kiriku Kultuuriprojekt.
