From December 13 to January 12, the ArtDepoo gallery will host the exhibition “Fading as Mist”, which, through iron cyanotype photography and music inspired by decaying buildings.

The exhibition “Fading as Mist” focuses on the realm between the past and the future – the resting moment of buildings, where former and future ideals have no significance.

The concert evening dedicates a musical moment to such fading buildings through the sounds of the cello and electroacoustic instruments. The musical material has received its original impulse and breath from the sounds that could be heard and recorded in the rooms of the Sitsi textile company, which at the moment of the recording were still at rest.

The buildings fading into the mist – Sitsi Textile Factory, Tondi Barracks, Patarei Sea Fortress, Linnahall – have been photographically captured and set into the form of cyanotypes by Ave Palm.

The soundscape of the concert evening has been created by composer Marianna Liik, and the cellist Theodor Sink will perform.

The sound engineering solution is carried out by Kenn-Eerik Kannike.

Venue: ArtDepoo Gallery, Jahu Street 12 (Wed-Fri 12–6 PM, Sat 12–4 PM; call 213 at the gate).

More information about the exhibition and concert can be found on the ArtDepoo website and Facebook event.
